Coming Back to Paris: Macarons, Museums, and a Perfect Goodbye

After my coastal reset, I returned to Paris: this time staying near the Sorbonne, my favorite area in the city. My hotel upgraded my room, and it felt like a cozy cave: quiet, peaceful, and perfectly located. It was just the best! Here’s a peek inside my stay:

I quickly dropped my bags (which the hotel delivered to my room while I was away) before heading to a macaron class at La Cuisine, something I’d wanted to do ever since reading The French Ingredient. Sharing the experience with a friend from the residency made it even better!

The following day, I visited the Cluny Museum, which may now be my favorite museum in Paris. It wasn’t crowded, and I was able to spend time admiring the medieval tapestries (including The Lady and the Unicorn) and intricately crafted chalices that felt impossibly detailed. I also visited the beautiful Saint-Étienne-du-Mont church, near the Pantheon, and visited the Tomb of Sainte-Geneviève. Look up the modern legend around it – it’s interesting!

That evening, I joined friends for the Champs‑Élysées Christmas lighting ceremony. It was crowded and chaotic and completely worth it.

On my final day, I toured Le Cordon Bleu, returned to Noglu one last time, and wandered through the Jardin du Luxembourg at golden hour. The light, the fall colors, the quiet…. it was the perfect farewell.

My early morning flight home was surprisingly smooth. I arrived at CDG early (a very “me” thing), breezed through tax refund and security, and boarded a full flight with no one sitting next to me… a rare and perfect ending. I also love that my chauffeur to the airport had star lights on the ceiling of his Mercedes van!

Paris has my heart. And I already know I’ll be back.
